Blue Point is a hamlet on Long Island in Suffolk County, New York, United States. Blue Point is located in Brookhaven. It has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km2), of which 1.8 square miles (4.7 km2) is land and 0.56% is water.
The hamlet is bordered by Bayport to the west, Patchogue to the east and the Great Patchogue Bay to the south. Montauk Highway passes through the hamlet which leads to the adjacent Village of Patchogue to the east. Up north is bordered by the Sunrise Highway. Atlantic Avenue is connected by Montauk Highway and traverses south up until Dietz Pl street, a block away from Blue Point Beach. Atlantic Avenue splits with Middle Road in the south that covers the west-east direction.
Blue Point is served by the Bayport-Blue Point School District, which consists of a high school (Bayport-Blue Point High School), a middle school (James Wilson Young Middle School) and three elementary schools, one of which, Blue Point Elementary School, is located on Blue Point Avenue in Blue Point. Attractions within the hamlet include Blue Point Nature Preserve at 31 Maple St, Blue Point Veterans Memorial Park at 212 Blue Point Ave, North Corey Park at 94 Davis Ave, Corey Beach which is next to the Blue Point Beach. The only church in the hamlet is Saint John's Greek Orthodox Church at 77 Montauk Hwy. Also along the Montauk Highway is where the United States Postal Service is located.
